Processing and refining of Shark Liver Oil leads to three products:
(1) Alkoxyglycerol rich Shark liver oil
(2) Vitamin rich Shark liver oil
(3) Squalene (99.5%) as an isolated material.
Essentially Shark liver oil is separated into its components through molecular distillation to produce these three materials. Shark liver oil is used in a variety of dietary supplements as well as cosmetic applications. Shark liver oil fractions of particularly high vitamin potency are used in certain skin treatments. Alxoyglcerol rich oils are used primarily in the dietary supplement industry. The isolated material Squalene has dual use in both the dietary supplement as well as in the cosmetic industry as an emollient.
Vitamin rich Shark Liver Oil is of the same general specifications as the Alkoxyglycerol fraction, however vitamin potencies are much greater.
